About OOTU

The Outline of the Universe. Everyone is an expert in something. And if you know something, now you can own it. Sign up and become a UserContributor, then use the simple OOTU entry interface to organize your knowledge or your opinions in outline form. Enter information under existing categories, or create new categories (except for at the top level: Culture, Endeavors, Events, Places, Society, Things, you can create a new category anywhere in the outline). When you have added three new levels, your User Name appears after the entry and it is assigned to you for 3 years.

What does assignment mean? These days, web sites make money through advertising. Because it's easy for people to load what they know into OOTU, anyone can do it. Lots of UserContributors make for lots of traffic and that creates revenues. OOTU shares that money with its UserContributors in proportion to the traffic and commerce they create. We keep track of how many times your entries have been clicked. The more they are clicked, the more money you get from OOTU.

It costs money to keep this site up so our idea is to share our profits with UserContributors roughly 50/50. Initially, we expect costs to be about 40% of revenues so about 60% can be shared, 30% to the UserContributors, 30% to OOTU. You can follow your success and look at your statistics by clicking the "My Account" button at the bottom of the screen after you have logged in.

How do you get your money? When you create a UserContributor account, you must specify how you want to receive your money. We can send it to you via PayPal or by check.
